Local Area
Quintessentially Spanish, the coastal town of Denia is as authentic as it gets. The 11th-century hilltop castle is a focal point, surrounded by rainbow-coloured fishing shacks overlooking the harbour. Browse the designer boutiques along the tree-lined Carrer Marques de Campo. Find a pavement café in the Old Town to while away a few hours, or stroll to the cosmopolitan marina, where you’ll find an abundance of waterside eateries.

Valencia
This tour of Spain’s third-largest city starts with a visit to the Fallas Museum, where you will find out more about the history behind this great fiesta – the fallas themselves are huge papier-maché sculptures. Next is a visit to one of the biggest indoor markets in Spain, followed by a guided walk past the cathedral and basilica. After some free time for lunch, a final stop is made at the City of Arts and Science, where there is an opportunity to take photographs of the superb modern buildings and bridges. This excursion involves a fair amount of walking with a local guide.
