SALT of Palmar
The adult-only boutique hotel for lovers of all things local
SALT of Palmar is all about the design, food, travel and all things local. The hotel's concept is being eco-hotel with a big focus on the local Mauritius traditions through its design, kitchen and mindset of happiness. It has a zero single use plastic and zero food waste policy and promotes various cultural immersion activities such as painting classes with locals.
There’s a touch of North Africa to be found here too. Whether it’s in the terracotta riad-style turrets and stairs leading up to the resort’s roof terraces. Or perhaps it’s in the warm sea breeze coming over the white sand beach from the Indian Ocean.
Whatever it is, we like it!
Dip into spa treatments, Himalayan salt rooms and some of the freshest homemade bread and pastries. Alternatively, get active with yoga, gym, or beach volleyball sessions; or get out on the water by SUP board or clear-bottomed sea kayak.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll be invited to tuck into the freshest seasonal ingredients at The Good Kitchen restaurant. And there’s no better place to end the day at SALT of Palmar other than the cool comfort of your Carpe Diem king size bed.

Holiday location
Local Area
The island of Mauritius can be found roughly 2000kms east of southern Africa, and to the east of Madagascar. It’s surrounded by the Indian Ocean and boasts a bounty of underwater coral reefs and fertile volcanic landscapes.
Most holiday makers travel in search of sun, sea, and beautiful beaches. The east coast, especially, has some of the country's best stretches of pure white sand.
A lack of development on the east coast also means there’s a much more authentic feel to the place in comparison to some of the more touristy spots. Elsewhere on Mauritius you'll find a mix of sugar cane plantations, mountain ranges and abundant flora and fauna in protected areas such as Black River Gorges National Park.
Take a boat offshore and the islands of Ile des Deux Cocos and L'ilot Bernache are popular places for snorkelling or SUP boarding over vibrant coral reefs.
Wherever you find yourself on Mauritius, you can rest assured that relaxation and rum cocktails won't be far behind. All you need to do is go with the flow.
Transfers from Mauritius Airport take 1 hour and 10 minutes.
