Paradise Sun
The name’s a big giveaway at the Paradise Sun Hotel, which has an idyllic setting on Praslin Island. Guests have a two-kilometre slither of snow-white sand all to themselves, and the backdrop is a green forest. It’s easy to unwind here, thanks to a good-size pool, a spa offering organic Balinese treatments, and guided nature walks among the cinnamon and nutmeg trees. There’s also plenty on offer if you like keeping busy – such as swimming, snorkelling and kayaking in the Indian Ocean shallows. When it comes to dining, you can look forward to changing cuisines every evening in the buffet restaurant. The St. Pierre Beach Restaurant, meanwhile, is open for lunch and dinner, and serves Creole dishes and fresh-from-the-ocean seafood. You can slip off your shoes when you enter, too – the floor is made up of soft sand.
