Angkor Wat Temple, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Holidays to Cambodia

Visit Cambodia and you’ll almost certainly want to return – that’s the magic of this faraway land sandwiched between Thailand and Vietnam. Nicknamed, ‘The Kingdom of Wonder’, it’s something of a tropical fairytale, with untouched beaches and thick, humid rainforests that cling to mountain peaks.

Cambodia’s temples are considered to be among the world’s most beautiful, and as iconic as the apricot-robed monks who roam them. The stirring Angkor Wat complex, in the north, is the biggest religious monument on the planet, and visitors flock here from far and wide. Another must-see is the rainbow-washed capital city, Phnom Penh, which combines a riverbank setting with a bustling café and street food scene.

With Saga, you can explore Cambodia and neighbouring Vietnam and Laos as part of an escorted group tour or explore under your own steam on one of our independent Tailor-Made Travel itineraries.

See all Cambodia holidays

No holiday to Cambodia is complete without seeing the magnificent temple complex Angkor Wat, but spending time in the remote, rural hinterland and witnessing local life is also rewarding.

Angkor Wat

One of the most exquisite and important religious monuments in the world, Angkor Wat is also one of the most photographed. A sunrise or sun set visit offers the quintessential view, as you see the iconic silhouette mirrored in perfect symmetry by the reflection pool, against a sky marbled with black, orange and gold.

Phnom Penh

Set on the banks of the mighty Mekong river, Phnom Penh is a capsule of Cambodian culture and history with its traditional Khmer architecture, gilded and graceful palaces and poignant monuments to Cambodia’s notorious Killing Fields.

Cambodian Aspara

Aspara is a form of classical Khmer or Cambodian dance inspired by the carvings and sculptures in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The dancers, dressed in silk brocade and elaborate gilded headdresses, are renowned for their grace and artistic expression. An authentic Aspara show, performed in Cambodia, is a visual and cultural treat.
