The multi-hued coral reef is home to nearly 1,000 species of marine life, including the likes of lionfish, sea cucumbers and stingrays. Plus, there’s plenty of opportunities to spot whale sharks, sea eagles and dolphins in the nearby channel. The island is just 30 minutes away from Malé International Airport by seaplane, but it’ll feel a world away from your everyday life. As you soar over the archipelago, your once-in-a-lifetime getaway starts here.
Seasoned divers agree that South Ari Atoll is one of the very best places to explore the underwater world. There are around 30 dive sites within a 20-minute boat ride from Constance Moofushi, including Shark Channel, Dega Thila and Bojamodhi Manta Point. The resort’s PADI 5-star dive centre, Bluetribe, is well respected for its expertise, and their friendly staff will happily guide you through the local waters, whatever your level of experience. Prefer snorkelling? Embark on a tailored 30 to 40-minute trip to a nearby snorkeller’s paradise, where you can swim alongside giant porcupine fish, Napoleon fish, and Hawksbill turtles in the magnificent house reef.
When you stay at Constance Moofushi, you’ll learn it’s crammed with unique experiences you won’t forget in a hurry. Head out on a night of traditional sunset fishing on a Dhoni, a classic Maldivian boat. The experienced crew will take you to the best secret fishing spots, where you can hopefully catch some delicious reef fish like Grouper, Rainbow Runner, and Blue Fin Jack. For a glimpse of local culture, pay a visit to the nearby fishing village of Himandoo. You’ll see the mosque where villagers pray, the open-air primary school, and the boat yard. Please remember to dress appropriately to respect the local Muslim culture.
