This friendly hotel is perfect for a peaceful Cretan escape. Set in well-kept gardens on the edge of Hersonissos, it’s a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. There are two outdoor pools, plus a heated indoor one (seasonal), and the beach is just across the road. The restaurant offers buffet and à la carte options, with plenty of Greek dishes to try out. The lobby bar is ideal for a coffee or cuppa, while the beach bar serves cocktails and Cretan wine with a view of the Mediterranean. Rooms are simply and traditionally furnished, and each has its own balcony or terrace. Upgrade for direct access to the pool or even a private pool of your own.

Local Area

A ten-minute walk will bring you into Hersonissos. It’s a lively town, with plenty in the way of cafes, bars and restaurants in the centre and along the waterfront. There’s a beach right in front of the hotel, but you’ll find a handful of others in the resort if you fancy a change of scenery. Day trip options include the scenic Lasithi Plateau and the more traditional villages in the hills behind Hersonissos. Island capital Heraklion is lovely, too, with a vibrant old town, colourful markets and a pleasant harbour with ancient fortifications.
