Villa Welsperg Visitor Centre to Welsperg Lake (half day, one-and-a-quarter miles)

Travel by coach to the nearby Villa Welsperg Visitor Centre, which has a scenic setting surrounded by forests and mountains, and was once the stately home of the Counts of Welsperg. Now, it houses the visitor centre, which offers an immersive experience of the local geography, with rooms focussing on the bio-diversity of different areas of the park, including the Val Canali, the Pale plateau, and the Paneveggio forest. After visiting here, set off on a gentle, guided walk along the external pathway known as Le Muse Fedaie, which runs through forests and meadows, to the small Welsperg Lake.
Passo Rolle to Baita Segantini and the Venegia Valley with lunch (full day, five miles)

Make the bus journey up to the Passo Rolle, then set off on a moderate, uphill walk to the Baita Segantini, one of many mountain huts. From here, descend into the Venegia Valley and continue to the malghe or alpine huts of Venegiota and Venetia. This is one of the best-known routes in the Trentino region. Arrive at Pian dei Casoni, where you reboard the bus for the return journey to Passo Rolle, stopping for lunch at Malga Rolle, a rustic farmhouse restaurant in the mountains.
Mezzano Romantica and Fiera di Primiero (half day, five-and-a-half miles)

Join your Saga host and head out on foot from the hotel for a gentle, self-guided walk over flat terrain to Mezzano Romantica, one of the “Borghi più belli d’Italia”, meaning “one of the most beautiful villages in Italy”. It is characterised by wooden sculptures depicting the traditions of the village and you can follow an art route to its historic centre. Your walk concludes with a visit to the artisan brewery Birrificio BioNoc’, where you can enjoy a tasting session, before continuing to the Caseificio Primiero, a cheesemaker in Fiera di Primiero, for a taste of their produce.
San Martino di Castrozza to Tognola and Scanaiol (full day, 11 miles)

This route begins at nearby San Martino di Castrozza. From here, set off on foot for a moderate walk through forests to the Rifugio Tognola and uphill to the ridge where you can admire the view of the Pale massif of the Dolomites. Continue along this ridge to the Forcella Scanaiol, the famous hiking signpost that can be seen for miles along the route. After a rest and picnic lunch here, make the descent to Malga Scanaiol and back to San Martino to board the bus for the return journey to the hotel, passing through Malga Crel along the way.

This charming city, around 60 miles away, has a dramatic setting beside the Adige River, at the foot of the Dolomites. Its main attractions include the 13th-century Buonconsiglio Castle, Trento Cathedral on Piazza Duomo and the two 16th-century houses of Case Cazuffi-Rella, decorated with Renaissance frescoes.
