Local Area
Galé is a peaceful seaside village with a scattering of seasonal bars and restaurants and an Apollonia supermarket to the rear of the hotel (Portugal's answer to Waitrose). Albufeira's old town is just seven kilometres away, easily accessible by taxi or local bus, which runs frequently. In the opposite direction, around the same distance, you can explore the town of Armação de Pêra with its cliff-backed beaches dotted with colourful fishing boats. There are also some great walking opportunities from the hotel along a boardwalk starting around 1 km from the hotel, across protected dunes to the Lagoa dos Salgados nature reserve and beyond.
This hotel is ideal for those wanting a peaceful escape to one of the best beaches on the Algarve, and its large apartment style rooms are perfect for long stays. The old town of Albufeira is only 15 minutes by local bus, just tag along with our Host, Luis, on his orientation and you'll learn the ropes. To make sure you make the most of your stay we've also arranged some weekly shuttles to the markets and cobbled streets of the Moorish city of Silves and to the marina in Faro which is close to the historic and commercial centre of the Algarve capital.

Lagos and Cape St. Vincent
Immerse yourself in the times of the Portuguese Discoveries. In Lagos, you will find the golden church of St. Anthony and one of the main slave markets in Europe in the 16th century. Sagres - beautiful and well- preserved fishing port, passing by the fortress of the 15th century. Also visit Cape St. Vincent, the most south- western point of the European continent, once known as "the End of the World", where the most powerful lighthouse in Europe is located.
