Occidental Roca Negra
Saga Hosted Hotels
This four-star adults-only hotel is located on Gran Canaria's quiet northwest coast, 1km from the small, traditional coastal town of Agaete. It’s got a spectacular and secluded setting – perched on a clifftop overlooking the Atlantic, and there’s a steep path that’ll lead you down to the seafront. You can also follow a peaceful, rugged trail into the port (Puerto Las Nieves), just 500m away. Onsite, facilities include an outdoor pool with a neighbouring bar for sundowners, a recently refurbished buffet restaurant serving local and international cuisine, and the Moroccan-styled Rocktop Agaete eatery, which offers à la carte dishes (extra charge) with a side-order of incredible island views.

Local Area
Unspoiled Agaete’s whitewashed buildings cling to a volcanic rock hillside, which gives way to lush green interiors and deep ravines. The pine forests of nearby Tamadaba Natural Park are well worth exploring, as is the neighbouring mountain town of Teror. Its colonial buildings, leafy parks, and sunny plaza – complete with traditional Basilica – provide a great snapshot of the area’s culture and history.
