Beach and cliff of Juncal (approximately 6 km)
1 / 5
This circular walk from the hotel starts on Playa de la Caleta, then crosses a small ravine to begin our ascent into the foothills of Moriscas Mountain. As we get higher, we’ll stop to admire the spectacular cliffs and ravines - some peppered with prehistoric cave dwellings and temples - before we arrive at Roque viewpoint for 360o views. From here we follow a horseshoe shaped trail down to Joncal beach where (conditions allowing) there’s time for a swim. Afterwards, we’ll take a winding path back through the countryside, observing rural Canarian life and traditions along the way, before tracing the lip of the ravine back to our starting point on the beach.
Camino de Santiago (approximately 10 km)
1 / 5
This walk follows one of the historic camino reales right through the heart of Gran Canaria. Starting amidst the tall pine trees of Llanos de la Pez, we’ll follow sandy tracks through the shady coniferous forest until we reach the Ventana del Nublu viewpoint. Here, we’ll stop for photographs and views of Roque Nublo, the 65-metre-tall volcanic rock which has become one of Gran Canaria’s most distinct and famous landmarks, before walking back to Llanos de la Pez.
Caldera de Bandama (approximately 8 km)
1 / 5
We’ll learn more about the volcanic and geological wonders that have shaped Gran Canaria on today’s walk around the extraordinary Caldera de Bandama. This circular volcanic crater (one of the largest on Gran Canaria) is 200m deep and 1km across and our walk around the rim gives us spectacular views across the crater and to the mountains and coast beyond. As well as the views, we’ll admire the caldera’s prolific flora and vegetation including tall stems of colourful tajinaste and beautiful eucalyptus trees.
Tabaibal de la Punta
1 / 5
The Tabaibal de la Punta trail in La Aldea, Gran Canaria, is a breathtaking hiking route. Starting in the El Almacén area, it ascends past the old El Muelle quarry, leading into one of the island’s best-preserved coastal landscapes. Along the way, you'll encounter unique ecosystems with rare plants and fascinating wildlife thriving in the arid terrain. The trail offers stunning views of the Andén Verde cliffs and sweeping coastal panoramas. A moderate hike, it promises a rewarding adventure through some of Gran Canaria’s most remarkable natural scenery.
Pico de las Nieves
1 / 5
The hike from Caldera de los Marteles to Pico de las Nieves offers a scenic route through Gran Canaria’s varied landscapes. Beginning at the volcanic crater of Caldera de los Marteles, the trail passes through pine forests and open terrain, providing peaceful surroundings and changing views. As you climb, you’ll see panoramic landscapes across the island. At Pico de las Nieves, Gran Canaria’s highest point, you may even spot Mount Teide on Tenerife on a clear day. Covering around 10 kilometers with a mix of moderate and challenging sections.
Location
Unspoiled Agaete’s white-washed buildings speckle the landscape against jagged volcanic rock. And here, you’ll discover dramatic landscapes, with plush green interiors and deep ravines as part of the picture, too. The pine forests of nearby Tamadaba Natural Park are well worth exploring, while neighbouring mountain town Teror is a great place to experience local culture and history. The streets are lined colonial-style buildings decorated with flowers and is known for its Basilica, parks and a plaza.
