Walking
With its stunning volcanic landscapes and coastal views, Lanzarote offers a perfect backdrop for a walking holiday. Our expert guide will lead us along scenic trails that wind through lava fields, past quaint villages, and along rugged coastlines. With pleasant weather year-round, Lanzarote is ideal for leisurely strolls or more challenging hikes, making it an excellent destination for anyone who loves to explore on foot.
Five included guided walks
- Helechos circular (three-quarter day)
- Coastal walk (three-quarter day)
- Haria to Teguise (three-quarter day)
- Lanzarote’s little gem (half day)
- Island walk (three-quarter day)
Grade 3: This grade is ideal for those who enjoy a variation in walking levels from easy to moderate. You’ll be walking mainly on good paths at a low altitude, with occasional more demanding ascents and descents. Walking regularly in preparation prior to the tour is recommended due to 5 to 9 miles of walking in the space of 2.5 to 4 hours per day.
If you’re looking for panoramic sea views, then the Hotel Costa Calero ticks all the boxes. Perched high above the Atlantic, this peaceful retreat has a focus on sustainability and using local products. It also has nautical inspired interiors, spacious rooms, and stunning pools – of which you have a choice of four - that overlook gardens framed with lush palms and the bobbing yachts in the nearby marina. With two international buffet restaurants and plenty of laidback bars to choose from, dining will be a relaxed affair, too.

Local Area
Lanzarote’s otherworldly landscapes are made up of a rugged volcanic terrain, whitewashed villages and clear-blue coastlines. From traditional towns to livelier resorts, there’s something for everyone on the island. The Hotel Costa is in Puerto Calero, on the south-east coast of Lanzarote, not far from the large resort of Puerto del Carmen - home to the island’s largest beach Playa Grande. While Timanfaya National Park, the capital, Arrecife or ‘Fire Mountains’ are also close by – and well worth visiting if you can bear to tear yourself away from the sunbed.
Included excursions
Helechos circular
Distance: 15 kilometres Ascent: 400 metres Duration: about 5½-6 hours Starting and finishing at Maguez, this circular walk with gradual ascents in the north of Lanzarote takes in meadows, stunning cliff-top views and a caldera. Passing by Los Helechos and Montaña Corona you will walk to the Mirador de Guinate. A steady climb round the slopes of Helechos, overlooking the Guinate valley, will take you back to Maguez.
