Follow the coast from the hotel to the Punta de n’Amer peninsula, a ruggedly attractive area with wild flora and beaches on either side. The area is overlooked by a 16th-century defense tower, once used to defend the island against Moorish pirates.
Cala Torta and Cala Mesquida (full day, five miles)

Travel by bus from the hotel to the Llevant Natural Park in the eastern region of Majorca. From here set off on a hike via Cala Torta to Cala Mesquida, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch and a swim in the sea. Return to your hotel by bus, stopping along the way in Cala Ratjada Harbour, where you can purchase a coffee or cold refreshment from a choice of bars.
The Bay of Alcúdia and Aloe Vera Farm visit (full day, three miles)

This excursion follows a lesser-trodden stretch of coast known for its diverse flora. Views of the sea and the island’s northern region will be a constant companion during this walk. Following a picnic with a scenic setting, continue to visit the Aloe Vera Farm. Spread across more than 90 acres of land, the farm is home to around 250,000 plants. Explore here, then return to your hotel in time for dinner.
The turtle trail to Porto Cristo (half day, three-and-a-half miles)

Set off directly from the hotel and follow the roadside pavement for one mile to the bay of Cala Morlanda. Here, the stony path begins, offering beautiful coastal views along the way. After another mile, turn onto a more comfortable path that continues straight to Porto Cristo. Along the way, you may spot the native tortoises that inhabit this area. From Porto Cristo, return to your hotel by boat, weather permitting.
Valldemossa and its surroundings (full day, five miles)

Travel by bus from the hotel to the moutain village of Valldemossa, around one-and-a-half hours’ drive away. From here, set off on a circular hike through the holm oak forest up to the small monastery of Trinidad, which offers a panoramic view across the west coast. Afterwards, follow a path that takes you high above the sea, with splendid views of the coast below. Shortly, you will arrive back at the pretty village of Valldemossa. A picnic lunch is included during this excursion.

Positioned just a few steps from sandy S’illot beach, the hotel is situated on a pedestrianised promenade, close to a selection of restaurants and bars. The promenade leads to the resort of Sa Coma, around a mile away, from where there are coastal and woodland trails leading to the Castell de la Punta de n’Amer, a 17th-century coastal fortress. The nearest bus stop is 50 yards from the hotel. The drive to/from the airport takes approximately one hour.
Out and about
If you would like to explore the island further, you will find neighbouring coastal towns such as Cala Millor, around four miles away, and Porto Cristo, around three miles away, both easily reached by bus or tourist train. The island’s second largest town Manacor, where you can visit a Pearl Factory, the Rafa Nadal Museum or the Caves of Hams, is approximately 11 miles away.
