Situated at the meeting point of the rivers Severn and Avon, and just under three miles from Puckrup Hall Hotel, ancient Tewkesbury is one of the few places in the Cotswolds where you will find black and white half–timbered buildings. There are almost 400 listed buildings here, and this makes it popular destination in December for those wanting to experience a taste of Christmas past. The Tewkesbury Christmas Lights illuminate the riverbanks, medieval cobbled streets and over 30 alleyways linking main street to the river. Hilton Puckrup Hall is three miles from the centre of Tewkesbury, which is best accessed with a short taxi ride.

Tewkesbury is one of the best medieval townscapes in England with its fine half-timbered buildings, overhanging upper storeys and narrow alleyways. Here can explore Tewkesbury Abbey which was built in the early 12th century, delve into local stories at Tewkesbury Museum, enjoy riverside walks along the Severn Way, or wander down the Market town’s historic streets where the Tudor architecture provides a lovely backdrop to a diverse array of independent shops, quaint gift shops and artisan food producers.
