Peebles High Street is home to many independent shops, packed full of old-worldly charm including one owned by one of the top five chocolatiers in the world. Peebles Library, Museum and Gallery is housed in a historic building dating back to the 16th century, and showcases the best of the Borders and beyond, ranging from visual arts and textiles to artefacts of historical interest. Other sights include Tweed Valley Forest Park, situated three miles from the hotel, has trails through dense woodlands, scenic viewpoints and riverside paths, and Haylodge Park, a magnificent large park on banks of the River Tweed on the outskirts of the town. The park has an abundance of trees of all ages. The ornate entrance gates lead to a network of footpaths which provide walks around the park and along the riverside, with the abundance of seating providing opportunities to enjoy views of the river and surrounding countryside.
