Local Area
White sand beaches, azure ocean swells, and the jagged peaks of the Twelve Apostles, all make Camps Bay a big draw on the Cape Peninsula. This affluent city suburb sits on the west coast, just a 15-minute drive from Cape Town. It’s a popular summer hang out with beach cafés, tiki bars, and boutique designer shops, all to be found alongside the overflowing promenade.
Drive 10-minutes along the coast and the seaside harbour of Hout Bay has a much more easy-going atmosphere. This is where you’ll find farmers’ markets at weekends where food stalls and local traders sell regional produce accompanied by live music. You can also catch boat rides out to Duiker Island to watch Cape fur seals, sun fish, whales, and dolphins.
