Peaceful riverside retreat just a short shuttle ride away from central Ubud.

Welcome to the largest resort in Ubud. Here, you’ll find an arrangement of elegantly designed thatched-roof villas and luxurious suites set within tropical gardens. This is where the natural beauty of Bali takes centre-stage, with river valleys and terraced rice paddies providing lots of opportunities to follow the forest trails into the undergrowth.

Not only does Maya Ubud Resort & Spa bring you closer to nature, but it also invites you to enjoy plenty of pampering. There's a couple of scenic infinity pools here, as well as an open-sided spa pavilion where you can indulge your senses down by the riverside. Alternatively, if you’re aiming to keep active, head for the tennis court or practise your child’s pose in the peace of the yoga pavilion.

After you’ve enjoyed a good stretch, there’s nothing better than afternoon tea to ease you into the evening. Otherwise, you could indulge in some nourishing dishes at the River Café or an expertly mixed cocktail on the Tree Bar terrace.

Local Area

For many travellers heading to the Indonesian island of Bali, the centrally located town of Ubud is one of the highlights. Situated in the island’s upland region, surrounded by terraced rice fields and forest-covered river valleys, this is the cultural hub for traditional arts and crafts. It’s also the perfect place to seek out the peace and quiet of a spa retreat and replenish your mind, body, and soul among the sacred shrines.

Take a tour of the rice terraces and alongside the Petanu River and you’ll find shaded trails leading deeper into the mist-covered forests. This is where waterfalls can be found, such as Suwat, Tibumana and Kanto Lampo, as well as ancient Hindu temples, including Pura Agung Besakih and Puri Saren Agung.

Head south of the capital, Denpasar, and you’ll be treated to Bali’s beautiful Indian Ocean beaches. Geger, Pandawa and Nusa Dua Beach in the southeast are always popular attractions, alongside Padang Padang Beach and the Uluwatu Temple in the southwest.
