Cinnamon Bey Beruwala is located on a quiet stretch of golden sand in southwest Sri Lanka. It’s an ideal setting for swimming and snorkelling in the calm sea and is a couple of kilometres from the coral reef situated offshore from the better-known Moragalla Beach.
Beruwala Harbour – five minutes’ drive from the hotel – is a great place to head to for a slice of local life with an open-air fish market and traditional fishing boats adding to the sleepy seaside charm. This is also where you’ll find the white marbled Kechimalai Mosque standing between the coconut palm-fringed beach and the blue hues of the Indian Ocean.
If you’re looking to explore further afield, the fortified port town of Galle is an hour’s drive south and the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, is pretty much the same distance to the north.
