Holiday location
Local Area
Situated in southwest Thailand, the picturesque island of Koh Yao Noi sits overlooking the Andaman Sea within the white-sand crescent of Phang Nga Bay. Despite its location between the popular beach resorts of Phuket and Krabi, this stretch of coastline has remained relatively untouched by the tourist hordes and managed to retain a quiet, traditional Thai ambience.
This is thanks, in part, to the island’s small selection of five-star resorts only being accessible from the water, as well as Thai laws being put in place to protect the natural surroundings. The island’s selection of exclusive luxury accommodation has been designed not to interfere too much with the natural landscapes. The villas, for instance, have been ideally placed on forested hillsides right alongside soft white-sand beaches.
Head to the north coast of Koh Yao Noi, especially, and you’ll find visions of southern Thailand how it used to be, back in the day. It’s rather remote and isolated but once you get there; well, you’ll be treated to spa treatments, infinity pools and cocktails on the beach pretty much daily.
