Every room comes with its own private balcony, and a view over either the landscaped gardens, canal or one of the swimming pools. All have feather beds with down duvets and Egyptian cotton linen. Local Area
The Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi is in the Al Maqta area, a quiet, mainly residential area on the shores of the Grand Canal. The impressive Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque dominates the view from the hotel entrance, and its 82 white marble domes and enormous mosaic artwork make it a must see. Just a 15-minute walk or 5-minute away, it’s one of the few mosques in the region to allow non-Muslim visitors.
If shopping is your thing, you’ll find the Qaryat Al Beri Souk within a 10-minute drive away and there is also an option to book a boat. It’s a great place to treat yourself or stock up on gifts, home mainly to homegrown Emirati luxury brands.
Elsewhere in Abu Dhabi, you’ll find plenty of excitement at Yas Island, around 15-20 minutes’ drive away. This large entertainment and shopping complex includes a marina and Yas Island Mall, and is home to the city’s famous Formula 1 circuit.
If nature is more your thing, you’ll find huge stretches of protected white sand beach and mangrove swamps at Saadiyat Island – along with a branch of the Louvre.
