Southern Sun Abu Dhabi
Hand-Picked Hotel
Contemporary design meets Arabic elegance in a prime position just behind the Corniche.
This centrally located hotel is the perfect place to make the most of the city and the Corniche as well as the rooftop pool and sundeck.
The combination of contemporary design and Arabian hospitality works really well with the Southern Sun’s steakhouse restaurant, The Foundry. Alternatively, if you’re after authentic local fare and sensational sushi, head to the Kahraman Restaurant or check out the Blu Sky Lounge & Grill for live sports or the Balcon Lounge & Terrace for shishas, drinks and chilled tunes.
After a day spent exploring in Abu Dhabi, there’s nothing better than returning to the Southern Sun for a work-out in the 24-hour gym or a nice relaxing sauna, swim or steam bath. And when you’re planning on getting ready for an evening out, guest rooms provide all the contemporary space and comforts you need to hit the town in style.

Local Area
Situated to the southwest of Dubai overlooking the Persian Gulf, Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates as well as being the largest and wealthiest of the seven member states. It’s here that you’ll find an array of attractions ranging from multi-storey malls and the Louvre art gallery to the white marbled Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
Abu Dhabi is also the home of the Yas Marina F1 circuit and the largest Guggenheim Museum in the world (will open in 2025). There’s also an incredible aquarium and a vast mangrove marine park where you can kayak around the canals and channels and watch the birds flitting and flying around the forested foliage.
If you’re looking for the best place to see the sunset in Abu Dhabi, join local families on the Corniche promenade and beaches around dusk or, alternatively, take a trip to the top of the Etihad Towers and watch the lights come on from the 74-storey tall observation deck.
