Hand-Picked Hotel

Sophisticated but laid-back resort on a secluded arc of white sand.

Carlisle Bay has a peaceful atmosphere and a winning location in southwest Antigua. In this natural setting, you’ll find yourself sandwiched between a horseshoe-shaped white bay and an emerald-green rainforest.

As well as spectacular tropical surroundings, you’ve got four different dining venues to enjoy. Everything from Japanese sushi and Thai dishes to Caribbean classics and wood-fired pizzas by the pool are on offer. For the best sunsets, head for the Jetty grill by the beach.

Elsewhere, there’s plenty to help you work up an appetite. Five tennis and two pickleball courts are on hand to help you get into the swing of things. There’s also a well-equipped fitness centre and a wide choice of complimentary non-motorised water sports when you’re ready to take the plunge into the warm waves. And no luxury Caribbean retreat would be complete without a little bit of spa time. Enter the CARA Organic Beauty Spa, where muscle-melting massages and body wraps are on the menu.

Local Area

Located to the northeast of the Caribbean, the island of Antigua can be found around 30 nautical miles northeast of Montserrat; its distinctive silhouette can be seen clearly on the horizon from Carlisle Bay. It’s the perfect place to enjoy pristine white-sand beaches and five-star facilities against a backdrop of green rainforest and turquoise waters.

Explore further along the south coast and it’s the sailing communities that come to the fore with Falmouth Harbour, Nelson’s Dockyard and English Harbour all appealing to day-trippers searching for maritime museums and marinas.

Antigua has enough beaches to enjoy a different one every day of the year, so it would be rude not to check out the competition. Half Moon Bay, for example, is an east coast favourite, whereas Rendezvous Beach in the south and Dickenson Bay in the far north of the island are among the hottest spots in the Caribbean. The airport is also in the north of the island, close to the capital St. John’s, and around 40 minutes away by car.

  • Please note that Carlisle Bay is closed from 13th August 2024 to 11th October 2024.
