Fairmont Royal Pavilion
Hand-Picked Hotel
Five-star facilities and a dreamy setting on Barbados’ west coast.
If there’s anywhere in Barbados that exemplifies the luxury beachfront ambience of the Platinum Coast, it’s the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. This is where swish surroundings blend with first-class service to create the perfect place to relax and recharge.
The resort is set in 11 acres of tropical grounds and has direct access to a white-sand beach, so life here tends to revolve around the natural surroundings. Time spent by the pool or in the Jacuzzi is just as rewarding as enjoying traditional afternoon tea at the beachside restaurant or paddling off in a sea kayak.
Onsite restaurants and bars offer a true taste of the Caribbean, with authentic Bajan fare, such as fresh fired fish grills and coconut crusted crab cakes, best enjoyed with frozen cocktails and rum punches. One of the island’s most celebrated restaurants – Lone Star – is just five minutes’ walk along the beach, otherwise it’s a quick hop in a taxi to the upmarket resort of Holetown with its fine dining options and boutique shops.
With sociable themed evenings and live Calypso tunes against an ocean backdrop, the Fairmont Royal Pavilion is certain to become somewhere you’ll want to return to time and time again.

Local Area
The Caribbean island of Barbados is blessed with a bounty of beautiful beaches. The calm shallows of the Platinum Coast, in the west, call to lovers of snorkelling and kayaking, as well as sun-seekers who want to snooze on soft white sand.
Holetown, on Barbados’ west coast, is a great place to discover the history and colonial heritage of the island. This was where the British first landed and features several notable sites, as well as a commemorative monument.
Bridgetown, the capital, is another noteworthy location for history buffs, with numerous museums exhibiting everything from West Indies cricket legends to the island’s natural history. It lies around half an hour’s drive south of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, while a transfer from the airport (included if you’re staying in the Beachfront Suite or any of the villas) will take around 45 minutes.
From flower-filled botanical gardens and subterranean stalactite caves to rum distillery tours and afternoon tea on the lawn, if you’re looking for an island in the Caribbean that’s more than just a beach break, Barbados is up there with the best of them.
