Location
Albania is still fairly under-the-radar as a holiday destination, so now’s the time to visit to make the most of its unspoiled scenery and authentic, affordable towns. Royal G Deluxe is located on a promenade that's fronted by a private sandy beach on the central west coast, around 20 minutes’ walk from ancient Durrës – a charming city home to one of the Balkans’ largest Roman amphitheatres. The colourful capital of Tirana, meanwhile, is an hour’s drive from the hotel, and the spectacular Kruja Mountain hiking ...
If you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday in an up-and-coming tourist destination, this modern Durrës hotel is a great option. It's located directly on the beach, and ideally situated for walks along the neighbouring promenade and spending time in the seafront shops, bars and restaurants.

Optional excursions
Kruja and countryside
1 / 2
Travelling with a local guide, you’ll be invited to experience life in the historic hilltop town of Kruja. Situated a couple of hours’ drive from the hotel, Kruja is overlooked by a 6th-century castle which provides the perfect place to enjoy panoramic views across the town’s rustic red roofed buildings. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the cobbled streets and browse the wooden Ottoman-style shops in the Old Bazaar as well as learning about Albania’s national hero in the Skanderberg Museum. Just before midday you’ll transfer to the agricultural area of Fishtë for food at a local farm. It’s a chance to experience the peace and quiet of the Albanian countryside as you tuck into a delicious farm-to-fork lunch and tour of the farm’s wine cellars and workshops. You’ll also be treated to a taste of traditional Kallmet red wine – one of the best on the Balkan Peninsula. Once the tour has completed, you’ll return to the hotel in time for your evening meal and cocktails by the pool.
Tirana
1 / 2
The capital of Albania, Tirana, is about an hour’s drive from the hotel and ideal for an optional day trip. In the company of a local guide, you’ll, firstly, take a ride on the Cable Car Dajti Ekspres – the longest in the Balkans – and see the city from the top of Dajti Mountain at 1,200 metres. Once you’ve come back down to earth, you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour in Dajti National Park before visiting the Bunk’Art Museum for a subterranean trip back in time. This former anti-nuclear bunker was once the preserve of Albania’s communist dictator but now serves as a historical art gallery. From the city’s outskirts, you’ll transfer to the centre of Tirana where you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Why not visit the National Museum of History or one or two of the Ottoman-era mosques? – the impressive Namazgah Mosque and the frescos in the Ethem Bey Mosque – the oldest in the city – are certainly worthwhile. After all that sightseeing head to the arty neighbourhood of Blloku for a coffee and petulla (doughnut) and don’t forget to grab some sweet and sticky baclava for the return trip back to the hotel.
