On this week-long itinerary, you’ll journey back to ancient Greece on a fascinating tour of the country’s most celebrated historical sites.

You’ll experience Athens and the Acropolis and listen to expert accounts that bring to life the great philosophers and mathematicians that paced the floors of the Parthenon. Visit the age-old city of Olympia and the inspiring relics of Delphi, Epidaurus, and Mycenae – all in the company of an Expert Host.

Expect four full-on days with lots of walking and a couple of days for downtime in between.

Food and drink

Discover authentic Mediterranean and Greek cuisine at the on-site restaurant. If you tend to get peckish around 4pm, you'll love the complimentary tea and biscuits are offered at the hotel between 4-6pm. The bar is free for two hours a day before dinner for Saga guests, offering Greek spirits, draught beer, house wine, gin and tonic and ouzo.

Local Area

The hotel is a perfect base from which to explore the fascinating city of Athens and some of the other wonders of ancient Greece close by. Weekly shuttles to both Corinth and Athens are included and in the latter, you’ll arrive close to the Acropolis to wander alongside the Parthenon or visit the outstanding Acropolis Museum. Or head on further to the city’s oldest district, the village-like Plaka.

A chance to experience the must-see historical sites of Athens. Visits include the Parthenon, the Acropolis Museum, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Greek Parliament, the Temple of Zeus, the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, Panathinaikon Stadium, the National Gallery, Hadrian’s Ark, Constitution Square, Herodian, and Dionysus Theater. All entrances to the archaeological sites are included. Round trip duration is seven hours including a two hours and twenty-minute transfer time.
