Holidays to Malta’s picturesque St Paul’s Bay
The serene fishing village of St Paul’s Bay is the ideal way to sneak a glimpse into authentic Maltese culture and history, whilst still enjoying the friendly welcome of a seaside town. Peppered with historical sites and making the most of a spectacular coastline, holidays to St Paul’s Bay give you plenty to do within relaxing surroundings.
Given its attractive rocky coastline, St Paul’s Bay doesn’t have much in the way of sandy beaches, but the locals have found ways around that in order to make the most of the bay’s crystal-clear water. Bugibba Perched Beach, for example, features rocky platforms and terraces covered in artificial sand, with ladders or steps cut into the rock down into the calm waves.
Lively Bugibba is best experienced via a stroll along the waterfront. From here you’ll be able to soak up picturesque views of the Mediterranean whilst taking in local entertainment from street performers and musicians, shopping for souvenirs or partaking in coffee or a meal at one of the many cafes and restaurants.
St Paul’s Bay is found on the northern coast of Malta’s main island, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea, 60 miles north of Sicily and around 180 miles from Africa.
The currency in St Paul’s Bay is the Euro.
Tipping in St Paul’s Bay is much as it is in the UK, with tipping to show appreciation for good service, and you would be welcome to nip in hotels and taxis as well as restaurants and cafes.
St Paul’s Bay is one hour ahead of the UK.
Malta’s official languages are Maltese and English.
