Stargazing

Tenerife is considered an ideal location for star gazers and geologists. Its unique position under the equator combined with cloudless nights means you can witness the magnificent colours of the Milky Way in its full glory - something you can’t see at home! Islands are the best locations for observing the stars and with a trip up the mighty Mount Teide volcano that reaches over 12,000 ft tall, the opportunities for observation are some of the best in Europe.

The volcano itself, whose development can be traced back thousands of years, proves that our planet is also well worth investigating.

During your week-long stay, you will learn about the stars, planets and distant galaxies, take in some of the most breathtaking views, and gain interesting insights into the life and work of the astronomers based in Tenerife and discover the equipment at their disposal.
