Saga Hosted Hotels

Walking

Discover the diverse scenery of Spain's Costa Blanca, from sandy beaches to rugged mountains. We'll wander through valleys and fruit orchards, enjoy relaxing walks along the coastline, cross rivers, and explore ancient pilgrimage paths. Along the way, we'll pass through lush valleys filled with citrus trees, admire dramatic cliffs with views of the Mediterranean Sea, and explore historical landmarks like old windmills and Roman ruins.

Five included walks
- Coastal Orientation Walk (half day)
- Orchard Valley (full day)
- Old Pilgrimage Trail (full day)
- Circuit walk (full day)
- Las Rotas to Javea (full day)

Grade 3: This grade is ideal for those who enjoy a variation in walking levels from easy to moderate. You’ll be walking mainly on good paths at a low altitude, with occasional more demanding ascents and descents. Walking regularly in preparation prior to the tour is recommended due to 5 to 9 miles of walking in the space of 2.5 to 4 hours per day.

This simple and friendly three-star Hotel Port Denia is a customer favourite, and for good reason. It’s perfectly located, just moments from the sandy shorelines of Marineta Beach, and is just a leisurely stroll to the Denia marina. The hotel is centered around a large swimming pool framed by palm trees, perfect for spending lazy days relaxing in the sun. Unwind on the sun terrace and enjoy a refreshing drink or recharge in the spa, complete with Jacuzzi, sauna, and indoor pool.

Local Area

Quintessentially Spanish, the coastal town of Denia is as authentic as it gets. The 11th-century hilltop castle is a focal point, surrounded by rainbow-coloured fishing shacks overlooking the harbour. Browse the designer boutiques along the tree-lined Carrer Marques de Campo. Find a pavement café in the Old Town to while away a few hours, or stroll to the cosmopolitan marina, where you’ll find an abundance of waterside eateries.

Included excursions

Coastal Orientation Walk

This is the perfect introduction to the coastal landscapes and limestone rock formations that form the Costa Blanca. You’ll discover a series of sandy bays and secret coves as well as keeping an eye out for a variety of sea birds. After working your way up to the lighthouse at Denia, there’s no better way to complete today’s tour than with a cold glass of Estrella at one of the open-sided bars at the marina.
