We'll head to the Alpujarra region, a mountainous area with pretty white villages set among terraced hills. We’ll enjoy walks with breathtaking views and visit towns like Frigiliana and Cómpeta and explore Maro and the Nerja Caves, home to the world's largest stalactite.

Coastal walk (full day)
Alpujarra region (full day)
Grade 3: This grade is ideal for those who enjoy a variation in walking levels from easy to moderate. You’ll be walking mainly on good paths at a low altitude, with occasional more demanding ascents and descents. Walking regularly in preparation prior to the tour is recommended due to 5 to 9 miles of walking in the space of 2.5 to 4 hours per day.
Set on the pebble and sandy shores of San Cristobal in Almuñécar, Hotel Helios Costa Tropical is an idyllic setting for a relaxed break. It's three-star, but its dedication to service makes this gem a favourite among Saga travellers. Lounge by the heated outdoor pool or surrender to the spa's rejuvenating Jacuzzi featuring sea views. Whether you crave a mid-morning coffee or live music in the evening, the hotel's bar has you covered. Head to the roof terrace, too, for impressive sunset views. Or step outside and take a walk along the seafront promenade and find yourself a quaint cafe to people watch.

The Almuñécar area
The name Alpujarra is thought to be derived from 'alba sierra' meaning white mountain. With spectacular snow-covered mountain peaks, the Alpujarra is one of the most beautiful regions of Spain. Your walk will centre on the spa town of Lanjarón and includes a gradual, lengthy ascent to reveal breathtaking views of the mountains. There will be an opportunity to view the spectacular valley at Lanjarón from the recently renovated Moorish castle walls.
