Local Area
Charlotte Harbour is a low-key location set on the north banks of Peace River. It’s a super scenic setting made up of golf courses, woodlands and numerous lakes, tributaries and freshwater ponds. Situated close to the islands and sounds linking the Gulf of Mexico, if you’re looking for shoreline trails and paddling potential, you’ve come to the right place.
As part of the Great Florida Birding Trail, the coastal and waterside habitats definitely require binoculars to make the most of a good day’s walk. There are also several state parks where white sand inlets protect endangered animals. Rotonda West, especially, features abundant wildlife within its network of inland canals and waterways.
Thanks to the mid-west Florida location, you’re not far from life in the big city. Fort Myers is about an hour’s drive south, and Sarasota is roughly the same distance heading north. This makes Charlotte Harbour an exciting prospect for long-stay holidaymakers hoping to rent a home-from-home and catch some winter sun.
