Jekyll Island Club Resort
With a prime location on one of the ‘Golden Isles’ off the coast of Georgia, this award-winning property used to only welcome famous socialites and America’s wealthiest families such as the Rockefellers and the Vanderbilts. Set in Jekyll Island’s National Historic Landmark District, it gives a taste of how leisure time was enjoyed in the late 1800s. It is an ode to the island's history, with a mixture of Southern charm and timeless glamour. The resort offers three unique accommodation options – first and foremost is the original Jekyll Island Club that started it all, which has a wealth of facilities and leisure activities from carriage rides and croquet to golf and horse riding. The Island Cottages are three impressive mansions once owned by the country’s most influential businessmen. Finally, the resort’s newest addition is the Jekyll Ocean Club, the island’s only oceanfront, all-suite property with breath-taking views. The whole resort is set in beautifully landscaped gardens, and you can completely recharge your batteries by enjoying walks through the forests, beaches, and riverfront or cycling some of the 20 miles of paved bike paths. After you worked up your appetite you can dine at one of six restaurants/bar outlets where you can savour everything from seafood dishes to local Southern favourites.
