For almost 30 years, we have been refining what cruising should feel like for our guests. And today, Saga Cruises offers all-inclusive luxury cruises across a fleet of modern ships, on both the ocean waves and the European waterways.
All of our boutique ships have been designed for our guests, and they are exclusive to Saga. Saga ocean cruises
Our ocean cruises offer all-inclusive luxury from morning until night. All cabins on our sister ships Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure have a balcony as standard, and all cruises depart from the UK ports of Dover or Portsmouth. With no more than 987 guests on board, these beautifully boutique ships offer a unique way to visit a host of destinations, while enjoying first-class service every step of the way.

Saga river cruises
Our boutique river cruises can be as leisurely or as active as you choose. Settle into the relaxed pace of life on the finest rivers of Europe, enjoying the scenery from the sun deck or panoramic windows. You can join an included excursion in every port to see the main sights, or use an interactive headset from the ship and set out independently to follow your own interests. Then, return to your modern, boutique ship and sail on to another fascinating destination.

Our hotel stays focus on good-value holidays in hand-picked properties across Europe and the Mediterranean. A dedicated Saga host will be on hand throughout your stay, while we include all the essentials such as return transfers, a minimum of 20kg of checked luggage, optional travel insurance, and from April 2026, our return nationwide shared chauffeur service.

For holidays on land, a return shared nationwide chauffeur service is included on all escorted tours, and will be included on all hotel stays from April 2026, making the start and end of your holiday as straightforward and hassle-free as possible.
Yes. Saga plc was founded in Folkestone, Kent in 1951 and remains a British company with offices and colleague hubs in Kent, London and further afield. We are now the UK’s best-known brand for people over 50, offering holidays, cruises, insurance, financial services and an award-winning monthly magazine. Our Chairman is Roger De Haan, the son of Saga’s founder, Sidney De Haan.
Yes, all Saga holidays and cruises are reserved only for guests aged 50 and over. Although a travelling companion can be aged 40 or over.

Our family heritage
Saga was founded back in 1951, when Sidney De Haan and his wife Margery opened a seaside hotel in Folkestone, and began selling off peak holidays exclusively for retirees. The business took off, and soon we were helping our over-50s guests travel all over the world. A tradition that continues to this day.
As well as Saga Travel, the Saga Group also includes Saga Insurance, Saga Money and Saga Magazine, helping our customers in all aspects of their lives.
As we turn 75, the legacy of the De Haan family continues with Sir Roger De Haan as our Chairman, and we look ahead to many more years of creating exceptional travel experiences for our guests.
