Situated just under an hour’s drive east of the Atlantic, Stellenbosch sits on the banks of the Eerste River sheltered by steep mountain slopes. This is one of South Africa’s oldest inhabited areas and synonymous with the vineyards grown throughout the valley.
As an integral part of the Cape Winelands, this is where folk head when they want to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting or touring the neighbouring farms. It’s a pleasantly cool climate and the perfect place to walk in the hills or borrow a bike and cycle along the river.
