Trento
1 / 3
Enjoy the beauty and history of Trento, capital of the mountainous Trentino-Alto Adige region. The streets of its historic heart are edged with architectural gems: Romanesque, Renaissance and Gothic churches, medieval palazzi and the glorious Buonconsiglio Castle, once the seat of the Prince-Bishops of Trentino. Sights to see include the cathedral (built on the site of an ancient temple) and the Museum of the Diocese of Trento, housed in the Bishop’s Palace. The latter includes a display on the famous Council of Trento (1545-63), an important movement in the Catholic Counter-Reformation.
Lake Garda
1 / 3
Spend a day discovering the beauty of Italy's largest lake. You'll travel across the waters of Lake Garda by boat, stopping first at the lovely town of Malcesine. Admire the medieval buildings and clifftop Scaliger Castle, before we cross the lake's waters to Limone. The winding lanes of the historic town centre are perfect for strolling, perhaps with a gelato in hand. Our final stop will be mountain-backed Riva del Garda, right up at the lake's northern tip with beautiful views back down the lake.
Valley of the Lakes and wine tasting
1 / 3
Keep your camera to hand as we embark on a scenery-rich drive through the Valley of the Lakes. Emerald waters, thick spruce forests, towering peaks - this is one of the prettiest parts of the region. We'll stop off at Lakes Toblino, Santa Massenza and Cavedine. At Lake Toblino, the scenery comes with an added bonus: wine. We'll detour into a local winery for a tour and a tasting.
