Welcome to San Francisco where undulating city streets and an expansive natural harbour conjure up one of the world’s coolest places to visit. Situated to the north of California, overlooking the Pacific, this is where folk head for good times and happy vibes.
Getting around the city is pretty straightforward. There are a couple of excellent hop on/hop off bus tours that take in all the city sights and legendary locations. It’s a good way to get orientated and saves your legs from too many wrong turns up steep streets.
Of course, you could also opt for a classic cable car ride that will take you up and over Lombard Street from the corner stop at Beach and Hyde.
Alternatively, if you don’t mind a bit of a work-out, borrow a bike for a couple of hours and pedal off to Pier 39. Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place to head to with seal lions and views over the Golden Gate Bridge always best enjoyed with a steaming bread bowl of clam chowder.
From boat trips to Alcatraz and dim sum in Chinatown to uptown shopping and the cable car turnaround in Union Square, if you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to enjoy the ride.
