Go big in the USA
Holidays in the USA are your gateway to some of the world’s most exciting cities, coastlines and wide-open spaces. This is a chance to explore via motorhome around Florida and New England or take to the road on a self-drive tour along Route 66 or California’s Pacific Highway.
The USA always exceeds expectations with country music tours in Tennessee just as worthwhile as those Blue Ridge Mountain trails of West Virgina. National Parks, such as Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, are absolutely outstanding with endless hiking and wildlife watching potential ensuring an absolutely unforgettable holiday. From all that jazz in New Orleans and showtime in Las Vegas to shopping trips in New York City and witnessing the Great Lakes of Michigan and the wonder of Niagara Falls; if you’re planning on taking your next holiday in America to the next level, here’s where your adventure begins.
Head to the coast with the most on your USA holidays and you’ll be treated to some of the world’s most exciting seaside cities with San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles all worth a visit. If you prefer your wild experiences to be more inclined to nature, California also has some of America’s favourite national parks. From the giant sequoias and waterfalls of Yosemite to the surreal Colorado Desert rock formations of Joshua Tree – here’s where you enjoy an American holiday, in style.
America’s southernmost state is awash with touring options as well as plenty of opportunities to stay put. Starting with the Gulf Coast beaches around Tampa you’re just a skip and a jump to the centrally located theme parks of Orlando. From there it will be Fort Lauderdale and Miami that steal the show before the gator and bird filled Everglades tempt you into wildlife adventures, afloat. Finishing with a drive down to Key West for mojitos is the perfect way to complete a fun-packed Florida holiday.
There can be few greater adventures in America other than heading north to Alaska. Situated in the far northwest, just on the western edge of Canada, this is where fjords, glaciers and bear filled pine forests appear before your very eyes. Cruise ships from Vancouver take travellers through the Inside Passage to the port towns of Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and onwards to Anchorage. Onshore excursions promise Native American culture, incredible wildlife watching and relics of a Russian past.
No holiday in America is complete without at least considering a stay in New York City. And while you’re on the east coast, why not think about the Smithsonian exhibits and major monuments in Washington as well as the heritage trails and New England charm of Boston. Of course, Niagara Falls isn’t too far from the east coast and is certainly worth a visit if you’re travelling around the lakes in upstate New York or even if you find yourself as far afield as Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.
