Holidays and tours to Florida
Discover America’s Sunshine State
Famously sun-kissed, the peninsula of Florida boasts over 180 beaches just waiting to be explored, and so much more besides. Holidays to Florida can combine leisurely sand, sea and sun days with visits to unforgettable theme parks or excursions to national parks in search of the Sunshine State’s diverse wildlife.
Florida’s mild winters and hot summers promise good weather whenever you decide to visit, so the only thing you need to worry about is exactly what you’d like to spend your holiday to Florida doing.
To experience it all, perhaps try a fly-drive holiday to Florida; Highlights of the Sunshine State will allow you to find your freedom in Florida as you take to the open road and experience the good life in the Sunshine State.
Miami
Bustling Miami in the south is the ideal holiday destination if you want to combine a beach getaway with a city break. Art Deco and Cuban-inspired buildings pepper the streets, and after a day relaxing by the gentle waves of the Atlantic Ocean, you won’t be short of places to have a dance after dark!
The Everglades
If you’d prefer to embrace the state’s wildlife, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to get into nature. The swampy wetlands of the Everglades National Park, just north of the 1,700 islands of the Florida Key archipelago, cover over 1.5 million acres of spectacular panoramas and promise the ideal place to spot or rare and endangered species like alligators, turtles, otters, storks and spoonbills.
Manatees
Alternatively, head to one of the state’s many areas for watching manatees – perhaps try the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, just north of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf coast. As well as manatee experiences, this vibrant city is perfect if you’re looking for a more active holiday. The flat terrain makes strolling and cycling a breeze, and you can even hit the water in a canoe or kayak (watch out for manatees, though!)
Orlando
Of course, it would be hard not to visit one of Orlando’s world-famous theme parks; from Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando to Seaworld and even Gatorland, there are plenty of immersive experiences and heart-pounding thrill rides to choose from. If you’d prefer something a little more sedate, Orlando also has its fair share of golf courses, though you’ll find plenty of these scattered throughout the state.
