The city of Palm Springs is situated in the Sonoran Desert in southern California, around a two-hour drive east of Los Angeles. It’s a popular vacation hot spot with spa hotels, golf courses and hot springs resorts located in and around the city limits.
Aside from the allure of air-conditioned shopping on Palm Canyon Drive, the natural environment surrounding Palm Springs is quite something else. Joshua Tree National Park, especially, boasts some formidable desert scenes.
