Hawks Cay Resort
Extensive luxury resort with restaurants, swimming pools and boat charters
If you’re hoping to catch some sunshine and sea views in the Florida Keys, the Hawks Cay Resort allows you to access all areas. This is the perfect place to kick back and relax by the pool or seek out dolphins, coral reefs and technicolour sunsets in the ocean.
From fishing boat charters and snorkelling safaris to evening dinner cruises and sand bar excursions - the resort’s marina is the place to go when you’re ready to dive in. Otherwise, if you’re more of a land lubber, you’ll also find tennis courts, golf putting greens, and boutique shopping arcades.
Of course, if you’re intending to ease into things at a more gradual pace, Calm Waters Spa provides pure pampering pleasure. Alongside the fitness centre, Calm Waters has a full range of health and well being services and therapies to help you rest and relax, in style.
However you choose to keep active, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to sustenance. Hawks Cay Resort has fireside and dockside restaurants as well as snack shacks if you’re on the go or by the pool. Finally, if you’re looking for cocktails and conch fritters, pop over to the Pilar Bar at the Oasis Pool and you won’t be disappointed.

Holiday location
Local Area
The Florida Keys stretch for 127 miles off the southeast coast of America. They’re a string of coral cays and larger islands linked together by a series of overwater bridges aka: the Overseas Highway. Bound by the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Atlantic to the east, this is where folk head for fishing charters, snorkelling safaris and dolphin watching tours.
Thanks to the location, just down from Miami and the Everglades, road trippers will often drive across the Florida Keys as part of a two-week holiday. It’s a wonderful experience with seaside villages and luxury beachside resorts to be found on islands like Duck Key.
Duck Key is situated right in the centre of the Keys, between the islands of Islamorada and Big Pine Key. It’s roughly an hour’s drive from Key West, at the southern tip, and approximately the same distance north to Key Largo. If you’re looking for somewhere to stop off for a few nights, mid-road-trip, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better setting.
