Local Area
Anna Maria Island sits between Sarasota to the south and Clearwater to the north. It’s a barrier island that separates Florida’s mid-west mainland from the Gulf of Mexico. Famed for its old-time feel, snow-white beaches, surfable shallows and wooden fishing piers, this is an ideal location to head to for sunshine and sea views during the winter months.
Private homes, villas & condos also provide the perfect place to settle into a long vacation. You get to really feel like part of the community with daily walks to beachside cafés and seafood restaurants offering opportunities to get to know the local community.
Sarasota’s hardly any distance at all from Anna Maria Island. It’s a great place to visit for a change of scene or to stock up on supplies. While you’re in the big city be sure to check out the botanical gardens and the exhibits at the Sarasota Art Museum. The gothic pink architecture of the Ringling College Museum Campus, alone, is well worth the visit.
