Local Area
Situated on a beautiful barrier island overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater Beach is a firm favourite on the Florida white sand circuit. The mid-west coast setting, close to Tampa, is ideal for road trippers with the theme parks of Orlando just a 90min drive east.
Spend a few days here and you’ll find gentle and surfable shallow waters inviting you into the ocean or out on an SUP board. Bikes can be hired for a pedal along the beachfront, or you can jump onboard a hotel shuttle bus that will take you into town.
Follow your nose and search for seafood shacks and fine dining restaurants at Pier 60. This is the place to be as the sun set with lots of street performers entertaining the crowds. Alternatively, enjoy a day walking the nature trails at Sand Key Park or visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium to learn about the rescue and rehabilitation of Florida’s marine wildlife.
