Local Area
Just minutes from Kauai’s small airport at Lihue, the Kauai Beach Resort & Spa is tucked away down a tree-lined drive, creating the sense of a private sanctuary framed by the island’s most sensational landscapes. The small town centre of Lihue, where you’ll find everything you need in terms of shopping and dining, is around three miles to the south.
The central location, on Kauai’s east coast, makes an ideal base if you’re looking to get out and about for a wider exploration of the island, and we do recommend car hire as the best way to make the most of your time here. Kauai Beach Resort is about 45 minutes’ drive from Princeville and the spectacular Na Pali cliffs on the island’s north shore, and about an hour from Waimea Canyon State Park in the south where you can enjoy walking trails to waterfalls, beach overlooks and dramatic vantage points.
