Local Area
Set directly on Ka’anapali Beach, a long stretch of sand on the northwest coast of Maui, with fantastic views across to neighbouring Lanai and Molokai, two of the lesser-known islands in the Hawaiian archipelago. The hotel is one of a string of well-appointed resorts along the beach.
The island’s main town, Kahului (where you’ll also find the airport) is about 45 minutes’ drive from the hotel and, with a rental car, you could loop back from here via the twisting roads of the north shore. Another worthwhile excursion includes the zigzag road up towards the summit of Mount Haleakala, the massive shield volcano that forms 75% of the island of Maui. The peak stands at just a little over 10,000 feet, and the lunar landscape you’ll be driving through (not to mention the views) is spectacular.
