Northern California's Wine Country & Sierra Nevada

This relaxed 9-day road trip is all about finding your freedom amongst the wineries and mountains of Northern California. It’s an opportunity to take your time at tasting sessions and enjoy the relaxed vibe of farmers’ markets as you pick up a few snacks for impromptu lakeside picnics. Discover little offbeat restaurants and stroll through shaded pine forests as well as driving through some of the state’s most scenic settings. Spending the first three nights in the wine country gives you a base to experience the Sonoma and Napa Valley vineyards. You’ll then head east towards Lake Tahoe where the rugged peaks of the Sierra Nevada extend to ski resort gondolas and alpine trails. From Tahoe you’ll head south to Yosemite National Park for a couple of nights surrounded by giant sequoias, waterfalls and world-famous rock formations. The trips wraps up where it started, in San Francisco, and ideal base from where you can continue your travels. PLEASE NOTE: To ease overcrowding during peak times, Yosemite National Park has implemented a reservations system for vehicle entry into the park. This will be in operation at weekends from 13 April 2024 – 30 June 2024; daily from 01 July 2024 – 15 August 2024; and again at weekends from 16 August 2024 – 27 October 2024.
