Bear Watching at Knight Inlet Lodge

Bear Watching at Knight Inlet Lodge - Hero

Independent Tours

This independent tour takes you from the waterside setting of Campbell River on Vancouver Island to the untamed natural wilderness of Knight Inlet, where you’ll spend two nights at a rustic floating lodge. Set within the far reaches of one of British Columbia’s longest fjords, this is an incredible place to watch grizzly bears in the wild. Guided boat tours and viewing platforms allow you to spot wildlife in the least disruptive way. Knowledgeable local naturalists will be on hand to help you get more from each moment. You can also paddle across Glendale Cove by kayak and enjoy a sightseeing cruise around Knight Inlet. Staying at Knight Inlet Lodge is a treat within itself. Refreshingly, there’s no telephones, television or Wi-Fi. This means folk get to socialise each evening, in the lounge or round the bar. You can also listen to resident guides and local experts giving fascinating talks and presentations on the natural history and traditional culture of the region. You cannot guarantee you’ll see any wildlife whilst staying here. That’s just the way it is. Knight Inlet Lodge is not a zoo, but it is absolutely one of the world’s premier locations to spot grizzlies in the wild. So, you’ll have just lowered the odds substantially in your favour.
