Long Beach Lodge Resort
Oceanfront lodge-style accommodation on Vancouver Island’s west coast
This beachside resort makes a wonderful, relaxed base from which to explore Vancouver Island and its coast. With 41 lodge rooms and 20 cottages, set in eight acres of oceanfront rainforest, it’s a lovely place to kick back and enjoy nature.
The lodge is almost directly on the beach, with many of its rooms having a view out over the sand and the Pacific Ocean. Cox Bay is known as a world-class surfing beach, and the resort has its own surf club right on the sand. Even if you’ve never used a board before, you’ll be welcome, with lessons available from beginner upwards. And if you don’t fancy catching a wave? The club welcomes all to its hot tub, cedar sauna, beach changing rooms and cosy restaurant.
As well as the Surf Club, there are two other restaurants. The Great Room has ocean views, upscale ambience and fine dining, while the sandbar bistro serves relaxed meals and drinks on a beachside patio.

Local Area
The Long Beach Lodge Resort lies on the western side of Vancouver Island, around 7kms south from the small town of Tofino. It’s a wild and wonderful place to be – a forested national park with Pacific waves rolling in, and little else to spoil the quiet.
Surfing is a big draw for visitors to the lodge, but if that’s not your thing, you’ll find more than enough to keep you busy. It would be easy to spend days simply enjoying the views from the lodge and tucking into fresh seafood. But, if you’d like to explore, you’ll find walking trails through the rainforest, peaceful inlets and endless opportunities to ride bikes, hire kayaks or take wildlife tours.
The welcoming village of Tofino is well worth a visit, and is a great place to learn about the area, with its own visitors’ centre as well as art galleries and coffee shops. In the summer, it hosts a popular market.
