Local Area
The landlocked province of Alberta can be found in Western Canada, to the east of BC, and just over the border from Montana, USA. Among many of Alberta’s incredible natural highlights, the national parks of Banff and Jasper reign supreme. This is where skiers and snowboarders get their kicks in winter, whilst hikers, canoeists, and wildlife watchers make the most of summer.
Banff National Park, especially, is packed full of stunning pine-covered slopes and rushing glacial rivers, as well as the glorious green hues of Lake Louise. This beautiful melt water lake has long been the place to head to for nature lovers, with the dominating form of the Victoria Glacier providing the backdrop for reflective photo ops.
Take a gondola high into the mountain peaks surrounding Lake Louise and you’ll find endless hiking and snowshoeing trails as well as the nearby ski area. Alternatively, head into the local village to browse the outfitters and gift stores, or for some hearty home-cooked Canadian cuisine.
