Rail & Sail
4 meals
Combine two Canadian Rocky Mountain rail adventures with a scenic full-day cruise journey through Queen Charlotte Sound.
This two-week tour is for independent travellers looking to rekindle the spirit of exploring. After an enjoyable couple of nights in Vancouver, you’ll board the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train for a gentle two-day journey through the pines and canyons to Banff National Park. The food, the mountain scenery and the SilverLeaf service will be sensational, and you can upgrade to GoldLeaf service, if you’re looking for an extra-special experience. From Banff you’ll swap rail for road as you traverse the Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park. This scenic stretch is lined with untamed wilderness where waterfalls, lakes and soaring slopes of snow and ice create plenty of places to stop and take it all in. And if you think that’s going to be amazing, just wait until you catch the intercity train back to the west coast, to the port town of Prince Rupert. This is where you’ll board a BC Ferries ship and set sail along the fjord and forest fringed shores of Canada’s Queen Charlotte Sound. It’s the perfect way to complete the tour with a scenic flight over Vancouver Island, and a visit to Victoria, adding to an already unforgettable adventure.
