Local Area

Western Australia’s capital city, Perth, is situated on the banks of the Swan River around 15mins from the coast. City Beach is the closest to the city centre. This is one of Australia’s greenest capitals and also includes the largest urban park on the planet – Kings Park.

Staying in the city is a great idea if you’re hoping to see the sights and make the most of mild winters and long hot summers. Perth is fairly compact with a soaring skyline consisting of the shimmering skyscrapers within the Central Business District.

Getting around is pretty straightforward. Most of the attractions are within walking distance from the waterfront, including the hipster hang outs, museums and galleries in Northbridge. There’s also a free-to-use bus service that runs around the city centre.

Accommodation in Elizabeth Quay is ideal for sunset strolls along the waterfront. It’s in between Kings Park and Langley Park, both of which have great riverside trails. If you want to see the city in one go, climb up the Jacob’s Ladder stairs for perfect panoramas.
