Port Douglas sits between Cairns to the south and Daintree National Park to the north with the outer coral of the Great Barrier Reef about 70kms, offshore. It’s one of northeast Queensland’s most popular holiday destinations but still retains a sleepy seaside vibe.
It’s the perfect place to check into a self-catering apartment, close to the coast. The downtown district centres around the boutique shops and bistro restaurants on Macrossan Street. From there you’re just a hop and a skip to the soft white sand curvature of Four Mile Beach.
