Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park is an unspoiled area of Andalusia filled with rugged mountain terrain and a changeable climate to match. The lush green surroundings provide plenty of trails for anyone looking to explore the outdoors. They can be reached directly from the hotel; some are easier than others, but all are rocky and uneven, so walking boots are necessary. Grazalema, is five kilometres away from the hotel, where you’ll find cobbled streets, plazas, and cafes. There are a few ways to visit: on market day, which is included; by taxi, which costs around €10; or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk the rocky trail. It can be strenuous but fulfilling.
The Fuerte Grazalema is an oasis of calm in a beautiful setting amid the little frequented Sierra de Aracena. This hotel is most suited to walkers, birdwatchers and nature lovers in general. Also, for lovers of getting off the beaten track in "real Spain" and those looking to escape from civilisation for some time to unwind in spectacular surroundings.
